Marie-Josée Choquette, also known as Marimuz, has performed over fifty concerts, both intimate and for large audiences. Sometimes, she was accompanied by musicians on stage at the Palace de Granby in front of 700 people. Other times, she performed solo piano concerts in outdoor and indoor settings. Over the years, Marie-Josée has experienced equal joy in presenting large-scale multimedia shows—staged by Jessy Brown and Raoul Duguay—and in inviting diverse audiences to discover her solo pieces through rich cultural encounters.

Marie-Josée Choquette has always orchestrated her own compositions for her performances. Many talented musicians have joined her on stage on multiple occasions, playing her pieces with passion and virtuosity. A special thank you to these main collaborators: Marius Mihaï (violin), Simon Daigle (bass and double bass), Iohann Laliberté and Clément Jr. Hobbs (drums), Isabelle Kaprolat (cello), Hélène Dion (viola).

“Always in a universe filled with emotions, sensitive and almost magical.”

Marie-Ève Lambert, La Voix de l’Est, Éditions La Presse

“A treat for the ears, the heart and the soul! What a discovery, thank you so much to our local radio station for introducing me to this cd, it is wonderful. This is what you should have in your music library under “GO TO ANYTIME”. All of the instruments are given almost equal importance in the compositions, it is a pleasure to discover them as you listen, be it piano, violin, voice etc. the result is so interesting and alive.”  Suzanne Gagnon MnGee, Amazon.ca

“Marimuz delivers a performance of rare intensity. With the energy of a virtuoso pianist filled with strong emotions, this artist takes us to a modern and vibrant world, at the very heart of a different language, her own, the one that she has created and named Ezperanto”. Disques BG
